SPARK is currently implementing a three-year programme called LEAD (Local Employment in Africa for Development) aimed at improving the social economic position of youth in Tunisia, Libya and Somalia, with a heavy focus on youth job creation through entrepreneurship development and SME growth. The programme focuses on supporting youth through access to education, and the labour markets by creating jobs and opportunities via training and targeted coaching to existing SMEs and new start-ups.

SPARK is currently looking to fill the position of: Regional Finance Assistant to support the Regional Finance Manager in overseeing all financial aspects of the LEAD programme. Under the direct supervision of the Regional Finance Manager, the Regional Finance Assistant will be responsible for the following:

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

• Conduct first review of local partner financial reports
• Support in payment processing, including verifying supporting documents and checking accuracy of calculations
• Supports in monthly closing activities of partner and office financial reports
• Supports in logistics of training events, including obtaining quotes, liaising with vendors, and finalising agreements
• Provides general office support to help ensure the smooth functioning of the finance and programme team
• Maintains files (both electronic and paper)
• Any other duties as assignment.

Requirements and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accountancy or equivalent field of study;
• At least 3 years’ professional experience working in a similar environment
• Interpersonal skills, with strong written and oral communication skills
• Hands-on attitude and willing to help out flexibly if required;
